Santa Ana Men Place Second, Women Take Fourth in OEC Championships

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana Cross Country traveled to Riverside City College to compete in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships on Friday morning.

The Don men placed second as a team with three runners coming in the top 12 to earn All-OEC honors.  Servando Aviles ran his way onto the All-OEC First Team by taking second overall with a time of 21:39.0 while Giovanni Barajas joined him with a fifth place finish, clocking in at 21:55.2. Dalton Aviles earned a spot of the All-OEC Second team as he came in 12th with a time of 22:29.2.

Maria Marroquin led the way for the Santa Ana women, placing 11th with a time of 20:05.7. She was the lone Don on the women's side to make an Orange Empire All-Conference team. Collectively, SAC finished fourth overall against seven other schools.

Next, the Dons will head to Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos on Friday, Nov. 2nd for the CCCAA SoCal Championships.
