SAC Cross Country Finishes 4th, Trujillo Hits PR to Place 2nd in OEC Finals

BUENA PARK, Calif. - On Friday morning, the Santa Ana Men's Cross Country team placed fourth in the Orange Empire Conference Finals while Aldo Trujillo hit his personal record to take second overall in the race. 

Trujillo was at his best when it mattered most as the freshman from Anaheim clocked in with a time of 22:00.5 to lead the Dons. 

Throughout the race, Trujillo paced himself and remained steady around 10th to 3rd place. At the finish, he battled a pack of Riverside runners and managed to outkick all but one to earn his spot on the podium.

Next in for Santa Ana was Bryce Tanikawa, who placed 38th with a time of 24.42.1. He was followed by teammates Diego Espinoza (55th, 27:14.1), Vincent Beltran (60th, 28:25.6) and Luis Salmeron (68th, 39:44.5). 

The Dons will continue their season on Friday, November 5th at the SoCal Finals at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. The action is set to start at 9:00 a.m.
