Corie Blount led the Dons to back-to-back state championships in basketball in 1990-91 and was the national JC Player-of-the-Year in 1991. He was also the co-MVP of the Orange Empire Conference (OEC), the state tournament MVP and the co-California MVP before transferring to the University of Cinncinnati. Dana Pagett, Blount's basketball coach at SAC, said, "Corie was the great team leader and he had all facets of the game: great hustle, defense and rebounding. He had a great presence on the court and a wonderful attitude toward the game. that attitude has serve him well as h now enter his 10th year in the NBA.

Blount's most memorable moment at SAC was a game against Cypress where his rebound basket won the game. "We were down by two with four second to play in the game that decided the conference title. Erik Martin made a free throw but missed the second. Corie rebounded, put the ball in and we win the connference title," recalled Pagett.

In 1993, Blount was drafted number one by the Chicago Bulls and is still an active Bull. He has also hand stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers during his professional career. Corie is the only NBA player to play on the same teams as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal.
