Women's Soccer, Class of 2010

Ana Velazquez rewrote the record books during her time at Santa Ana College. As a member of both the women’s soccer team and the softball team, Velazquez set a combined nine records from 1999-2001.

During her two seasons with the soccer team she set the record for most goals in a season with 33, most goals in a career with 49, most goals in a game with six, most career assists with 23, most points in a season with 76, most points in a career with 121, most points in a game with 12 and most hat tricks with five.

On the diamond Velazquez tied the SAC record for most hits in a career with 112 while ranking second for hits in a season with 71. She also ranks third and tied for fourth for most stolen bases in a season while her 52 career stolen bases ranks second all-time.

She was also named Most Improved Player in 2000 and Best Defensive Player in 2001. Velazquez was selected to the Pepsi Scholar Team in 2001 and was named the Orange County Sports Information Director’s female athlete of the year for 2000-01.

Following her time at SAC, Velazquez received a scholarship to continue playing softball at the University of Pittsburgh.
