In two seasons with the Dons, C.J. Wilson excelled in the field, at the plate, and on the mound.
As a sophomore he was named the Santa Ana College and Orange Empire Conference Most Valuable Player while receiving the Golden Bat award, given to the best offensive player.

In his MVP season, Wilson posted an 8-2 record as a starting pitcher with a 3.75 ERA and 78 strikeouts. At the plate he finished with a .385 batting average with 19 doubles, 13 home runs and 41 RBI.

Wilson transferred to Loyola Marymount in 2000 before being drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2001. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Rangers in 2005 before getting his first victory in a relief appearance against the Chicago White Sox.

Wilson appeared in back-to-back World Series with the Texas Rangers in 2010 and 2011 while being named to his first All Star Game in 2011. In 2012, Wilson returned home to Orange County when he signed with the Los Angeles Angels before making his second consecutive All Star Game appearance.
