Santa Ana Steamrolls Glendale 63-34 in American Metro League Action

GLENDALE, Calif. – Freshman quarterback Cross Faletoi had his best game of the season and the Santa Ana football team steamrolled the Glendale Vaqueros (2-7, 2-3) 63-34 to pick up its fourth win of the season in American Metro League action on Saturday afternoon.

Although Glendale put up the first six points of the game on their opening drive, the Dons controlled the game from there on out, posting 577 yards of total offense while Faletoi threw for 265 yards, six touchdowns and ran for 25 yards and another touchdown.

Faletoi wasn't the only Don that had their best game against the Vaqueros, as Cole Nequette rushed for a season high 146 yards and a touchdown while Noel Posey added 96 yards on the ground with a touchdown on just seven attempts.  

Receivers Donald McKinney and Indiana Taylor went off for Santa Ana, combing for 187 yards, 12 catches and five touchdowns. And Joshua Rice caught his 10th touchdown of the season to go with 44 yards.

SAC's defense got contributions from a handful of playmakers, with Devin Ruffalo leading in tackles at four with a forced fumble. Semaje Bonner finished with four himself while five other Dons recorded three tackles apiece.

The Dons have now won two consecutive games with the win, setting themselves up to finish the season at .500 (5-5) with a win next week.

Santa Ana will host LA Valley College (3-6, 2-3) at Santa Ana Stadium on Saturday, November 16th in their last game of the 2019 season.
