Santa Ana Outlasts El Camino in a Double Overtime Thriller

SANTA ANA, Calif. – When the game was on the line, the Santa Ana College Men's Basketball team made big plays to outlast the El Camino Warriors 131-130 in a double overtime thriller.

The Dons picked up their second win of the season while setting a couple of school records along the way. With 131 points, the team fell just shy of the school record of 132. The Dons did manage to set new records in the categories of field goals attempted (103) and total rebounds (73).

Sophomore forward Xavier Gunter set the tone by controlling the paint and crushing an individual school record for total rebounds with 29 on the night. The record was previously held by SAC Athletic Hall of Famer Corie Blount (21), who played in the NBA for several years. Gunter also added 20 points, 5 assists, three steals and two blocks to lead the Dons to the victory.

There were four other Dons that touched double digits in scoring, including Cameron High and Keandre Broussard, who both reached the 30's and combined for 62 points and 11 assists.
