Dons Suffer Home Loss to Cypress on Friday Night

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Keandre Broussard flirted with a triple double in Friday night's matchup against Cypress College, posting 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 34 minutes.

Broussard's big night wasn't enough to put the Dons on top though, as the Cypress Chargers (8-12,2-4) took the win 84-68 to give Santa Ana (8-10,1-4) their third straight loss in conference play.

Santa Ana stayed within reach for most of the game despite a poor shooting night. The Dons shot 33.8 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from three-point range and just 59.3 percent from the free throw line.

With 6:20 left, the Dons were down 67-61 with a chance to steal a game. The Chargers withstood the last push from the Dons, playing well enough to earn their second win in a row.

The Dons will return to action on Wednesday, January 24th when they go on the road to play against Santiago Canyon College at 5:00 p.m. in their first matchup ever.
