Lopez and Bailey Combine for 59 to Lift Santa Ana to the 99-89 Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. – In a non-conference matchup with the Santa Monica Corsairs, the Santa Ana men's basketball team came up with a 99-89 victory to end a two game losing streak and go into the winter break on a positive note.

Ramon Lopez and Chris Bailey carried the Dons offensively, combining for 59 points on 21-35 shooting.

Lopez did most of his damage on the perimeter as he knocked down six long balls on his way to a 33 point night. The freshman from Godinez High also added five rebounds and four assists.

Santa Ana got a big scoring punch from sophomore forward Chris Bailey, who went for 26 points, five rebounds and four assists. Bailey has now scored in double digits in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.

As a team, the Dons shot 50 percent (13-26) from the three point line and 54 percent (36-66) from the field, which led to the most points they've scored in a game this season. SAC improves to 5-7 overall while the Corsairs drop to 8-7.

The Santa Ana men's basketball team will take a nine day break before traveling to San Diego to compete against East Los Angeles College on Friday, Dec. 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Cuyamaca tournament.
