Al Reyes, Jr. joined the Santa Ana College coaching staff as the Head Coach of men's water polo in 2011 before becoming the Head Coach of men's swimming in 2013.

Reyes brought 15 years of coaching experience with him to Santa Ana College as he has served as head water polo and swimming coach at several high schools in Southern California.

Reyes began his coaching career at Gahr High School where he served as head coach from 1994 to 1998. After a four-year stint as the senior lifeguard for the city of Cerritos, Reyes was named the head aquatics coach at Sunny Hills High School.

Following seven years at Sunny Hills, Reyes became the athletic director and water polo coach at La Canada High School. Most recently, Reyes was the boy and girls water polo and swim coach at Long Beach Millikan High School where he was also a social science teacher.

During his tenure as a high school water polo and swim coach, Reyes led the boy's water polo team at La Canada High School to the 2007 CIF Championship. He was also named the Freeway League Coach of the Year from 2002-04. While at Sunny Hills High School, Reyes was nominated for the Teacher of the Year award three times.

Reyes is currently working on his master's degree in education and has his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Reyes also earned his associate's degree from Cerritos College.
