Second-Half Rally Falls Short in Dons 11-8 Loss to Fullerton College

SANTA ANA - The Dons found themselves in too deep of a hole as their second-half rally wasn't enough against Fullerton College. The Hornets (13-3, 1-1) handed the Dons (8-6, 0-2) an 11-8 loss after staking themselves to a 6-0 lead at the half.

Fullerton outscored the Dons 3-0 in each of the first two quarters to establish that 6-0 lead before playing the Dons even at 3-3 in the third quarter. All three of the Dons goals in the third were scored by Clayton Boling.

It wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Dons offense finally came alive, as SAC outscored Fullerton 5-2 in the final frame. However, it was too little too late as the Hornets had time on their side to claim the victory.

Boling added two more goals in the fourth quarter to bring his total up to five while Micah Mathis, Alejandro Aguilera and Michael Nyberg each added a goal in the fourth. Wes Kobel finished the game with 10 saves in goal for the Dons.
