COSTA MESA, Calif. - Vincent Navarro became an Orange Empire Conference champion after taking first in the long jump while Santa Ana College Track & Field competed at the OEC Finals on Saturday, April 26th.
Navarro hit a per for the season with a mark of 6.92m, which also qualified him for the State Championships. The sophomore from Kennedy also qualified for Southern California Prelims in the triple jump as he placed 6th with a leap that measured 12.01m.
Three more individuals qualified for the Dons with Victoria Navarro finishing 3rd in the javelin throw, hitting 22.54m while Josef Oborny (40.79m) and Abram Alcantar (39.81m) clinched their spots in the discus throw.
These four will battle for an opportunity to advance to state during the 3C2A Southern California Prelims on Saturday, May 2nd at Saddleback College.
