Shooting Woes Leads Santa Ana to Loss in OEC Matchup

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana women's basketball team fell to the Cypress Chargers 78-54 in an Orange Empire Conference battle on Friday night.

It was a tough shooting night for the Dons as they posted just a 32.2 shooting percentage from the field and s 7.1 percentage (1-14) from three. On the flip side, the Chargers hit 42.7 percent of their shots from the field and 43.5 (10-23) from the three point line.

Despite the offensive struggles as a team, the Dons still had a few standouts with Lexi Ross going for 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists and Danielle Pryor scoring eight with three rebounds. Angela Rodriguez added seven points and a team high eight boards.

Santa Ana drops to 5-12, 1-3 after the loss while Cypress moves to 12-6, 4-0.

The Dons will go on the road to face Riverside City College on Wednesday, Jan. 23rd at 7:00 p.m. and then return home on Friday, Jan. 25th to host the  Irvine Valley Lasers at 7:00 p.m.
