Dons Fall to FCC on Last Minute Goal

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana women's soccer suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss against No. 18 Fullerton College on Friday afternoon.

After falling behind 1-0 midway through the second half, sophomore defender Brianna Ceballos got in the box on a corner kicker and put away a header that tied the score at one a piece with 23 minutes left to play.

The two teams seemed even for the rest of the match until the Hornets used a quick counter to score their second goal with just about 20 seconds left in the match.

The match ended there, dropping the Dons to 4-9-2, 2-8-1 while the Hornets jump to 10-3-2, 7-2-2.

GAME NOTES

Brianna Ceballos scored the first goal of her Santa Ana career on the third assist of the season from Lizbeth Gonzalez. Fatima Pimentel made her fourth start at goalkeeper for the Dons and recorded 4 saves in 90 minutes.

Santa Ana hits the road to face Irvine Valley on Tuesday, October 23rd at 3:00 p.m. The Dons defeated IVC by a score of 5-2 in their first match earlier in the season.
