SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Women's Volleyball team finished the first week of the 2025 season with a record of 2-4 overall. 

The Dons faced some quality teams in No. 17 ranked Palomar, No. 20 ranked Cerritos and a Lemoore team that came into the match with a 5-1 record. 

With many new faces on the roster and some injury concerns, the Dons are still trying to figure out their rotation early in the season. 

Sophomores Lyric Birdsong and Alexis Tortola are expected to play big roles in year two while newcomers Cheyne Pope, Dayana Avila and a few others will need to solidify themselves throughout the season. 

SAC will continue their season on Wednesday, September 10th when they host Rio Hondo College (1-5) in non-conference action. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
