Former Don Ryan Aguilar Makes MLB Debut

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Former Santa Ana College Baseball standout Ryan Aguilar made his Major League Baseball debut last week as the Los Angeles Angels called him up for their series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

Aguilar got the start in right field in his debut and recorded two walks and scored a couple runs. The outfielder out of Esperanza High also picked a double later in the series to secure the first hit of his big league career.

In two seasons (2013-2014) with the Dons, Aguilar posted a .346 batting average with 64 runs batted in while leading SAC to a Orange Empire Conference Championship and CCCAA Super Regional appearance in his sophomore season.

Aguilar went on to play for the University of Arizona where he helped the Wildcats make a run to the 2016 College Baseball World Series before he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 31st round of the 2016 MLB Draft. In 2021, Aguilar signed a minor league deal as a free agent with the Los Angeles Angels.
