No. 8 Ranked Dons Sweep IVC for Fifth Consecutive Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The No. 8 ranked Santa Ana Baseball team completed a sweep of the Irvine Valley College Lasers (9-20, 0-12) and extended its winning streak to five games. 

The Dons (18-10, 8-4) racked up 26 runs on 31 hits and were led by sophomore infielder Austin Haller, who went 6-of-12 with three runs batted in over the three games. 

In addition, the Dons pitching staff were lights out as they combined for just five earned runs. 

Brady Ashworth had the most impressive performance as the sophomore right-hander went eight innings while giving up one earned run in game one to set the tone for the series. 

James Showalter and Joey Iglesias picked up wins in game two and three while Matt Schavone earned his first save of the season as he came in clutch in game two. 

With the series sweep, the Dons keep pace in the Orange Empire Conference standings, pulling into a tie with Cypress for third at 8-4. 

Next, Santa Ana will take on Long Beach City in a non-conference two game series starting with a home game on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
