Kent’s Three-Run Blast Leads No. 7 Santa Ana to 4-2 Win Over No. 11 El Camino

TORRANCE, Calif. - Sophomore outfielder Troy Kent pulled a three-run homer over the right field fence in the first inning to give No. 7 Santa Ana Baseball an early lead in their 4-2 win over the No.11 El Camino Warriors (21-10) on Friday afternoon.

Jaxton Andeel gave SAC another quality start as he kept the Warrior offense at bay over five innings. Despite conceding four walks, the freshman left-hander struck out three and allowed just one hit on his way to the win.

The Dons added an insurance run in the sixth as Mario Tostado drove in Eddie Pelc on a single through the left side to stretch their lead to 4-1. The Santa Ana bullpen would take over from there with Joey Iglesias, Matt Schavone and James Showalter (Sv, 1) finishing the last four innings while giving up just one run.

With the win, the Dons (21-10) picked up their third victory during the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) bye week. They'll continue OEC play by hosting the reigning state champs in No. 1 Riverside on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
