SAC Baseball Earns No. 4 Seed, Set to Host No. 21 College of the Desert in 3C2A SoCal Regionals

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Baseball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) Southern California Regionals and will host No. 21 College of the Desert on May 5-6th.

SAC will enter the playoffs with a 26-14, 13-8 overall record, which was good for third in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) standings.

The Dons leaned on their offense all season long as they finished the year in the top 10 in the state in runs (356) and home runs (41).

Sophomore infielder Austin Haller was a big key to the Don's success as the lefty led the team in batting average (.354), hits (58), walks (35) and was tied at the top for home runs (7).

The Dons had six more individuals hit over .300 with a minimum of 100 at-bats, showing a ton of depth in their lineup.

Santa Ana will face the College of the Desert Roadrunners who ended their regular season with a 25-14, 13-11 record and placed fourth in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC).

The Roadrunners proved to be a solid offensive team themselves as they finished seventh in the state in batting average (.327) while stealing the 11th most bases (82).

Game one of the series is set for Friday, May 5th at 2:00 p.m. Game two will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. followed by game three if necessary shortly after.
