Woody Quinn Commits to Tennessee as Latest Don to Move On

SANTA ANA - In one season with the Dons, Woody Quinn caught 15 passes for 252 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers are more impressive considering Quinn was originally a volleyball player, competing at Pepperdine University before joining the football team at Santa Ana College.

Quinn will now continue his budding football career in the Southeastern Conference after committing to join the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Despite playing just one season of football, Quinn only has two years of eligibility remaining after competing at Pepperdine in volleyball.

Quinn played one season of football at St. Margaret's High School in San Juan Capistrano but excelled in volleyball. He was named the league's most valuable player twice as well as the CIF MVP. From St. Margaret's, Quinn went to Pepperdine to play volleyball before a quick stop at California Baptist University. He then transferred to Santa Ana College this past summer, joining the football team.

"Woody is one of the most interesting stories we've had here," said Dons Head Coach Geoff Jones. "From his size, I knew he had Division-I potential. But with his intelligence as well, I think he has a great shot to compete in the SEC."
