Dons Lockdown Cuyamaca 75-66 to Extend Winning Streak to Three

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana Men's Basketball won their third consecutive game as they locked down the Cuyamaca Coyotes (1-7) on their way to a 75-66 victory on Wednesday night. 

The Dons (3-5) were stiff on the defensive end as they held the Coyotes to just 38 percent (27-71) shooting from the field while forcing 16 turnovers. 

Offensively, the Dons continued their balanced attack with four players scoring in double-digits while shooting a solid 43.8 percent (32-73) from the field. 

Russell Malone led the way for the Dons as the sophomore guard scored a game high 14 points to go with four assists and three rebounds. 

Kody Uyesugi and Kelvonte Ellis added 12 points each and combined for 14 rebounds and four steals while Miles Sulka recorded a double-double off the bench with 12 points and 10 boards. 

The Dons will take their three game winning streak into Friday's road test against Miracosta. The Spartans will enter the game with a 5-4 record after getting a big overtime win over Southwestern on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
