Sulka Drops 22 to Lift SAC to an 81-78 Win Over RCC

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Sophomore guard Miles Sulka came up big with a season high 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting to lift the Santa Ana Men's Basketball team to a win over the Riverside City Tigers (15-11, 8-6) 81-78 in Orange Empire Conference play on Friday night.

It was a back and forth affair but the Dons (10-16, 6-8) found a way to create enough separation in the final minutes of play. At the 2:04 mark, Zeyu Shan hit a cutting Kelvonte Ellis who went through traffic to put SAC up by five (73-68) with the bucket and the free throw after the foul was called.

Riverside made a couple more runs and cut the lead to just one with 10 seconds left but clutch free throw shooting from Sulka and Jonavan Castellanos helped the Dons fend off the Tigers.

Sulka, a 6'4 returner from Phoenix, grabbed six rebounds while collecting four assists in his big night.

Kody Uyesugi and Tyler Woods posted 16 points each while Kelvonte Ellis added 11.

Santa Ana will be on the road for the final two games of the season starting with Orange Coast on Tuesday followed by Saddleback on Thursday.
