Villa and Mitchell Score to Lead Dons to 2-0 Win Over Palomar

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Jose Villa and Marquise Mitchell both put away goals to help Santa Ana Men's Soccer shutout the Palomar Comets (1-2) by a score of 2-0 on Friday afternoon. The Dons have now won three consecutive matches and sport a record of 3-1-1.

In the first half, the two teams were even as both recorded seven shots but neither was able to connect.

But the Dons would wear them down and eventually get on the board as Villa scored in the 59th minute. About 20 minutes later, Mitchell got free on a pass from Jesus Mancilla to score and give the Dons a 2-0 cushion.

Santa Ana goalkeeper Jorge Cortes got the start and went the full 90 minutes to get the shutout. The keeper out of San Clemente finished with 5 saves.

The Dons will attempt to keep the winning streak alive when they go on the road to face LA Harbor on Tuesday and College of the Desert on Friday.
