SANTA ANA - The Dons completed the season sweep of Riverside City College today in dramatic fashion with a walk-off win in extra innings. The win moves the Dons (29-8, 14-5) into a tie for second place in the Orange Empire Conference with Riverside (26-11, 14-5).

The walk-off win came courtesy of a one-out double by Katlyn Harvey that scored Emily Whitecavage from second base. Whitecavage started the rally when she led the eighth inning off with a single before moving to second on a Keila Tenorio sacrifice bunt.

It was Tenorio who set up the late inning heroics when she tied the game at 4-4 in the sixth inning with a RBI-single to left field. Danielle Hernandez, who drew a two-out walk earlier in the inning, scored from second base on the play.

The Dons were forced to come from behind when Riverside rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the top of the sixth inning. The Tigers scored the first two runs to pull within one before an error allowed the tying run. Riverside would then take its first lead of the game on batter later on a RBI-single.

Prior to the sixth inning rallies, the Dons were up 3-0 on a solo home run by Annie Dowling in the second inning, a RBI-fielder's choice by Marissa Ross in the fourth inning, and finally, Whitecavage scoring in the fifth inning on an error.

Frances Campoy (8-2) got the win for the Dons as she allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits over three innings of relief work. Lindsey Esparza took a no-decision after pitching five strong inning. Esparza allowed just one run on three hits and left with a 3-0 lead.

Bailey Powell (13-7) took the loss for Riverside City after allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits in 3.1 innings of work. Riverside's starter, MacKenzie Maxwell, got a no-decision after allowing two runs on four hits in four innings.
