SAC Women's Wrestling Defeats Palomar 28-27 to Earn First Win in Program History

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Women's Wrestling team hosted the Palomar College Comets for the first dual meet in program history on Wednesday, February 28th. 

It was a memorable night as a great crowd came out to see the Dons make history and witness their 28-27 win over the Comets. 

SAC had the advantage in numbers coming into the meet and was awarded a total of 18 points due to three Palomar forfeits. 

The points that were earned on the mat came from Jade Morales and Daisy Castañeda

Morales earned a fall in the first round of the 128 pound match, adding six points to the Don's score. And Castañeda scored four more with a tech fall in the 148 pound bout. 

Santa Ana will continue their season on March 9th when they travel to Sacramento City College for the 3C2A State Dual Championships.
