Following their 2-1 overtime victory over San Bernardino Valley College in the Southern Regional Finals, the Dons advanced to the State Championships and will face Hartnell College, the #4-seed in the north.
The Dons got a goal from Leonardo Contreras with seven minutes remaining in overtime to send them to the CCCAA State Championships for the first time since 2009.
Following their 3-0 victory over #14 San Diego City College in the first round, the Dons advanced to the second round where they will host #6 Los Angeles Harbor College.
Luis Venegas scored all three goals for the Dons, with his third goal coming about one minute into stoppage time to give the Dons a 3-3 tie with Fullerton College.
The Dons had to make two comebacks to escape their match with Golden West College with a 3-3 tie. Leonardo Contreras played a part in all three goals for the Dons.
The Dons spotted the Wolverines an early 2-0 lead and were never able to come back in their first-ever loss on their new field. Both Dons goals were scored by Chris Cruz.
