SANTA ANA - Last season, the SAC men's soccer team met San Bernardino Valley College twice with the road team claiming a one-goal victory in each game. This season, the Dons hosted the Wolverines and claimed a 3-0 victory, SAC's first shutout win of the season.

The Dons (2-0-2) got their first goal in just the third minute when the Wolverines (3-2-0) defense failed to clear the ball. Carlos Martinez settled the ball just steps outside of the box and fired a shot into the back of the net, putting the Dons up 1-0 early.

Gary Carbajal and Uriel Rebollar collaborated on the Dons second goal with Rebollar freeing Carbajal for a shot with a short pass in the box. Carbajal's goal put SAC up 2-0 in the 59th minute. The Dons third goal came in the 87th minute with Martinez sending a cross to the front of the goal from the near the end line. Derian Lopez was the recipient of the pass and quickly headed the ball in for the third goal.

Dennis Hernandez made two saves in the game to post the shutout win while his counterpart, Jonathan Lopez, allowed three goals while making two saves.

The Dons will host Palomar College on Wednesday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. for their next match.
