Dons Sweep the Hawks for Second Straight Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana College Volleyball team hosted the Santiago Canyon College Hawks on Wednesday night in another Orange Empire Conference match.

The Dons defeated the Hawks for the second time this season to earn their second straight win and improve to 10-11 overall and 3-9 in OEC play.

Santa Ana was in control for most of the match, resulting in a 3-0 sweep. The Don sophomore's dominated and put up big numbers to push points all night long.

Mikelle Taylor was the primary weapon for setter Jasmin Cardona once again, as she recorded 16 kills to go along with three aces and nine digs. Dianna Nguyen and Kassandra Murillo both came to play, combining for eight kills, nine aces and five digs. And Libero Kayla Long anchored the defense with a game-high of 13 digs on the night.

The Dons will look to extend their winning streak when they travel to Irvine Valley College on Friday, Nov. 3rd for a match at 6:00 p.m.
