Cammie Lewis Signs Letter of Intent to Play at Lewis-Clark State College

SANTA ANA - After helping lead the Santa Ana College men's basketball team to a share of the 2013-14 Orange Empire Conference Championship, Cammie Lewis has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Lewis-Clark State College.

Lewis played in 46 games during his two-year career with the Dons while averaging 15.9 points per game and 3.1 assists per game. It was his sophomore year where he truly shined as he averaged 19.4 points per game, ranking him third in the conference and placing him First-Team All-Orange Empire Conference.

At Lewis-Clark, Lewis will join a squad that finished 22-10 last season before falling in the semifinals of the Frontier Conference Tournament. The Warriors, who finished fifth in the Frontier Conference, had five seniors on their roster and boasted seven community college student-athletes.

For Lewis, this scholarship offers him a chance to pursue a degree in sports administration while continuing to play basketball at a competitive level. Out of high school, Lewis said no one gave him a chance to play and that his time at SAC has put him in position for this opportunity.

"[This scholarship] tells me how hard I worked," Lewis said. "It gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment knowing that someone wants me to go play for them and represent them."

He added that his time at SAC made him more mature and helped develop his body and mind to play at the next level.
