Amy Talavou Commits to College of Saint Mary

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Amy Talavou, sophomore forward on the Santa Ana College Women's Basketball team, has committed to the College of Saint Mary (NEB) to continue her education and basketball career.

In her two years at Santa Ana, Talavou averaged 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 41.6 percent from the field. She was a key part of the 2016-17 Dons team that won 16 games and advanced to the second round of the CCCAA Southern Regionals.

"We are incredibly proud of Amy, she truly deserves this opportunity. Amy has been instrumental in helping our program succeed on and off the court during her two years here. She is a player who plays hard every minute she is out there, contributes at both ends of the court and is an outstanding teammate", Santa Ana Head Coach Flo Luppani said. "Amy really was the "glue" to our team. She has worked very hard on the court and in the classroom to earn this opportunity. The College of Saint Mary is getting a great player and even better teammate and young lady."

Talavou will be a junior upon transferring to CSM and plans on majoring in business analytics and strategic communications.
