#9 Santa Ana to Host #11 College of the Canyons in the Southern California Bowl

SANTA ANA - While they might have missed out on the playoffs by one game, the Dons turned their impressive season in the National Division, Southern Conference into hosting the College of the Canyons in the Southern California Bowl on Saturday, November 17, kickoff at 6:00 p.m.

The Dons finished the season ranked ninth in Southern California after falling from the sixth spot following their loss to Fullerton College. Canyons, on the other hand, won their final three games of the regular season to finish 6-4 and 11th in the rankings.

The two teams played five similar opponents this season, Bakersfield College, College of the Desert, Golden West College, Moorpark College and Saddleback College. The Dons finished 4-1 in those games, losing only to Bakersfield in the season opener.

Three of Canyons'  four losses came against those teams while they posted wins over Desert and Moorpark. The Cougars win over Desert came via forfeit as Desert originally won the game 48-30.

This will be just the third meeting between these two teams with each school holding one win. The last time these teams met was in 2002 when Canyons won 52-14 in the season opener. The Dons win in the series came the year before in 2001 when they defeated the Cougars 27-3.

Tickets for the game will be available at the gate. General admission is $10, seniors and children is $6. Students with a current activity sticker on their student ID are free.
