Dons Basketball Defeats Orange Coast College in High Scoring Conference Win

Dons men’s basketball (6-14, 1-3) defeated Orange Coast College (7-12, 0-4) in the first Orange Empire Conference win of the season 102-95.

SANTA ANA- Dons men's basketball (6-14, 1-3) defeated Orange Coast College (7-12, 0-4) in their first Orange Empire Conference win of the season 102-95.

Freshman D'Caran Anderson led the Dons by scoring a total of 21 points. Anderson also scored four three-point jump shots out of five attempts.  

Sophomore QV Johnson was on top of his game with 14 rebounds and six assists. He also tallied 14 points for Santa Ana College to help carry the lead against the Pirates.The Dons were 76.3% in their free throws by making 26 out of 35 shots. Freshman Taurean Oram scored eight out of ten free throws for the Dons and added 18 points to the scoreboard. 

Sophomore Jason Walker from Western High School scored nine out of fourteen field goals and scored 19 points for Santa Ana College to maintain the lead. He also had three rebounds. SAC totaled 40 rebounds for the game and ended the Orange Empire Conference game with a 102-95 win over Orange Coast.

Men's basketball will play again in their next Orange Empire Conference game on Friday, Jan. 20, against Saddleback College at Santa Ana College at 7 p.m.
