Women's Basketball Hosts CCCAA Playoffs Against No. 18 Allan Hancock College

SANTA ANA- The CCCAA announced that the Santa Ana College women's basketball team (15-13, 5-7) has earned a 2017 postseason bid as the 15th seed in the south. The Dons will host the 18th seeded Allan Hancock College (17-9, 5-5) on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7:00 p.m. at Santa Ana College.

At the annual post-conference Orange Empire Conference women's basketball coaches meeting, the OEC coaches selected the First and Second All-Orange Empire Conference Teams. Sophomore Blaysen Varnadoe was named First Team All- OEC. Also receiving All-OEC honors was sophomore Taylor Ivicevic, who was named Second Team All-OEC.

Varnadoe, an All-Conference MVP pick in the 2015-16 season as a freshman, was the conference's second-leading scorer with 18.9 points per game, 2.1 assists, and 10.2 rebounds per game. The Foothill High School graduate scored a season-high 35 points against West-Hills Lemoore in December.

Ivicevic had the conference's leading field goal percentage with 55.5%. Ivicevic averaged 12.3 points per game and 5.5 rebounds during the season.
