SANTA ANA - With what was perhaps a little revenge from a season ago, the Cypress Chargers used an early goal to defeat the Dons 1-0 in an Orange Empire Conference match.

In their matchup at SAC last season, the Dons scored in the first two minutes to hand the Chargers a stunning 1-0 loss. The roles were reversed this year as Cypress used a sixth minute goal by Kimberly Gonzalez to claim the 1-0 win while staying undefeated in OEC competition.

The main difference, besides the score, was the amount of time that the Dons (1-6-0, 0-2-0) controlled the ball against the unbeaten Chargers (5-0-1, 2-0-0).

Last season's goal for the Dons came on one of their only trips into Cypress' half. This season, the Dons pushed offensively against the Chargers and got five shots against Cypress, four on goal.

Cypress managed just two more shots then the Dons with seven while equaling them with four on goal, three of which were turned away by Monica Hernandez.

The Dons return to action on Friday as they continue to look for their first OEC win of the season. Their next opponent will be Saddleback College, first touch is at 3:00 p.m.
