SANTA ANA - The Dons (1-6-1, 0-2-1) controlled the action for the majority of the game against visiting Saddleback College (1-2-1, 0-1-1) but were unable to capitalize on more opportunities as the two teams played to a 1-1 tie.
On their only shot on goal of the game, Saddleback scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute on a shot by Kacey Curran.
The Dons came back in the 28th minute when Nicki Munoz gathered a rebound on a shot by Tiffany Martinez and buried an empty net goal to tie the match at 1-1.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game despite several scoring opportunities for the Dons. SAC outshot the Gauchos 22-6 overall and 11-1 for shots on goal.
Amy Tamillo made 10 saves for Saddleback while neither Monica Hernandez or Katie Delgado made a single save for the Dons.
Next up, the Dons travel to Orange Coast College to take on the Pirates at 3:00 p.m.
