SANTA ANA - Offensive chances were few and far between for the Dons in their 3-0 loss to visiting Santiago Canyon College.

However, the Dons (1-8-1, 0-4-1) defense was able to play damage control as they limited the Hawks (8-0-0, 4-0-0) to just three goals despite the 33 shots that Santiago Canyon managed.

The Hawks first goal came in the 13th minute, scored by Reanne Macon before Amanda Gomez scored in the 38th minute to put SCC up 2-0 at the half. Gomez capped the scoring in the 66th minute with the Hawks third goal.

Macon also had an assist in the match, as did Bianca Frontino. Monica Hernandez made 12 saves for the Dons as she faced 15 shots on goal. Ashley Cooper turned away both shots she faced for the Hawks.

The Dons travel to Fullerton College on Friday for their next OEC match. First touch is at 3:00 p.m.
