SANTA ANA- The Dons open the 2016 season with a straight-set win over Southwestern College. Santa Ana College won all three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-13.

Freshmen Mikelle Taylor and Stephanie Wilett led the Dons with seven kills each throughout the match. Freshman Berlin Ohanesian and Willet fought offensively by serving three unstoppable aces each. Freshman Jennifer King led with 19 attacks over the Jaguars.

In the third and final set, the Dons held the largest lead against the Jaguars and ended the set and match with the first victory of the season. 

The Dons will play again on Friday, Sept. 2, at 2:00 p.m. against San Diego City College and at 4:00p.m. against Cuyamaca at Santa Ana College.
