Dons Dominate from Start to Finish, Defeat Santa Monica 49-3

SANTA ANA, Calif. - In week four of the season, the Santa Ana College Football team picked up its third win with a dominant 49-3  performance against the Santa Monica Corsairs (1-3). 

The Dons (3-1) were clicking on all cylinders as they racked up 49 points on 543 total yards of offense. 

Dallen Engemann played a clean game, going 10-20 in the air for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked up a rushing touchdown on a 16 yard gain in the first quarter. 

Cannon King was the top targeted receiver with five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Malachi Pierce brought down three receptions for 35 yards while grabbing his sixth touchdown of the season. 

The Dons were most effective on the ground as five running backs combined for 357 yards. William Saucedo went over the 100 yard mark in the rushing category for the second consecutive week. The freshman from Yorba Linda High finished with 120 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown. 

Jackson Smith posted 104 yards on just four touches thanks to his record breaking 95 yard run in the third quarter. 

Santa Ana's defense was stifling to say the least as the Corsairs struggled to move the football past midfield. 

Cole Miller led the way with eight total tackles including two for losses while Gabriel Magana followed closely with five solo tackles. 

Defensive linemen Blaze Iglesias and Zamir Richardson recorded four tackles each and combined for three sacks.

The Dons will be back at home on Saturday, September 30th to host LA Valley in the 2023 Homecoming Game at 6:00 p.m.
