Engemann Leads Dons Football to 53-6 Rout of Victor Valley

VICTORVILLE, Calif. - Dallen Engemann led the Santa Ana College Football team to a 53-6 rout of the Victor Valley Rams (0-6, 0-1) in their first American Metro League game of the season. 

The sophomore quarterback went 19-of-31 while throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns in the big offensive day for the Dons (5-1, 1-0). 

James Farmer had a breakout performance as he caught five passes for a season high 178 yards and two touchdowns. Cannon King eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the second time this season while recording eight receptions and a touchdown. And Malachi Pierce caught his eighth touchdown of the season, putting him at third most in the state, while grabbing four passes for 25 yards. 

SAC was also effective in the run game with five running backs combining for 197 yards. Jackson Smith led the team in rushing yards with 51 on 10 attempts while Owen Smith (2) and Diego Soria (1) accounted for the three touchdowns while each recorded 38 yards. 

Defensively, the Dons continued to impress as they held the Rams to just six points and 167 yards of offense.

Dudley Mesilien was the biggest difference maker in this one. The freshman defensive back picked up two interceptions and made four solo tackles with one pass breakup.

Sophomores Gabriel Magana and Blaze Iglesias racked up six tackles each to help lead the Don defense. 

The Dons have now stretched the winning streak to five while posting a season high in points at 53. They will be looking to add to the streak on Saturday, October 21st when they host Compton College at 6:00 p.m.
