Monica Cordova becomes Santa Ana's Newest Addition

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana College Division of Kinesiology and Athletics welcomes Monica Cordova as one of its new Athletic Trainers. Monica will fill the void left by 27-year veteran Nora Schug, as she retired earlier this summer.

Before joining the Dons, Cordova spent the last two years as the Associate Athletic Trainer at Whittier College where she assisted in coordinating and providing care for 22 athletic teams. Prior to her time at Whittier College, she served as the Athletic Trainer to the USA Men's National Indoor Volleyball Team for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

She was also a part of the Long Beach State Athletic Training staff as a graduate assistant, working with the nationally ranked men's water polo and men's volleyball teams from 2013-2015. Her experience also includes working at Rowland High School as the Head Athletic Trainer from 2012-2013 and interning with USA Volleyball during the summers of 2012 and 2013.

Monica holds a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Fullerton and earned her master's of science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
