Dons Send Sophomores Out with Dominant 18-0 Win Over GWC

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana softball won in dominant fashion, defeating Golden West College 18-0 in their last regular season home game of the season.

The win boosted the Dons record to 24-14, 12-9 and secured at least fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference standings.

With a chance of hosting in the first round of the playoffs, the Dons came out hot and put the Rustlers away early. SAC recorded eight runs in the first inning and followed that with a three run second to set the tone.

They continued that trend and scored in every inning to win by run rule in the fifth inning.

Nicole Yniguez (17-0) collected another win, going four innings with five strikeouts and just two hits. Victoria Moreno entered in the fifth and completed the shutout while conceding one hit.

The Dons offense was powered by Maddison Reddick, who posted a monster game with three runs batted in, two hits and a couple runs scored. Makayla Peralta, Karlee Rivera and Stephanie Rojas added two RBI's each and combined for six hits.
