LONG BEACH, Calif. - Josef Oborny took first place in both the discus throw and shot put events as the Santa Ana College Track & Field team competed in the 2025 Long Beach City College Viking Invitational on Friday, March 7th. 

The sophomore from Sonora High posted marks of 43.84m (DT) and 13.10 (SP), putting him on the top spot simultaneously in both for the first time all season. Oborny hit the qualifying mark for the discus throw. 

In addition, the Dons saw Abram Alcantar qualify in the discus with a second place finish at 41.91m. 

Santa Ana will continue their season on Friday, March 14th when they travel to Riverside for the RCC Open at Wheelock Field.
