SANTA ANA, Calif. - No. 23 Santa Ana Volleyball swept the Cerritos Falcons (0-5) by a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20) in their home opener on Wednesday night.
The Dons (5-0) extended their winning streak to five games, giving them their best start to a season since 2016 when they went 4-0.
SAC was in control from the sound of the first whistle, jumping out to an early 1-0 after taking the first set 25-13.
Cerritos made a few adjustments at the break and responded well to begin the second set. The Falcons went on an early run as they took advantage of a few Don miscues to take a 10-6 lead. Santa Ana followed that with a run of their own to tie the match at 11-11 and eventually went on to win it by a score of 25-20.
The Dons held on again in the third set to finish off the Falcons with a 25-20 win to conclude the night.
Santa Ana will continue its season with the Chaffey Quad on Friday afternoon. They are set to face off against the Chaffey Panthers (4-3) at 2:00 p.m. followed by the San Diego City Knights (1-2) at 4:00 p.m.
