Dons Drop First Game of Season 2-0 to El Camino

SANTA ANA - The Dons found themselves on the losing end of a contest for the first time this season following their 2-0 loss to visiting El Camino College in a non-conference match. The loss drops the Dons to 3-1-0 while El Camino improves to 1-2-1.

The Warriors scored both of their goals in the second half with Sarina Ferlazzo scoring in the 49th minute followed by Miranda Ramirez scoring in stoppage time. Jordan Alvira assisted on El Camino's second goal.

Cristina Lizarraga started in goal for the Dons and made four saves in 36 minutes before Joey Martinez finished out the game. Martinez allowed both goals while also making two saves. El Camino's Olivia Hover made one save on the only shot she faced in 90 minutes.

The Dons hit the road to play Cuyamaca College next Tuesday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m. in their final non-conference match before returning home next Friday, September 18 to host Santiago Canyon College in their Orange Empire Conference opener. That match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
