SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana Football saw it's offense explode once again as the Dons (2-3) put up 56 points to defeat LA Valley (1-4) in their last non-league game of the year on Saturday night.
But the Monarchs countered fast, responding with their own scoring drive which took eight plays for 54 yards for a touchdown. LA Valley missed the PAT that made the score 7-6 with 9:50 left to play in the first quarter.
Following a couple defensive stops by both teams, Santa Ana would take over for good as the Dons went for 49 unanswered points.
SAC finished with 416 yards of total offense while holding the Monarchs to just 125 and six turnovers.
Santa Ana usually has a well balanced receiving core but on Saturday Jacob Biddle stood out as the sophomore wideout broke loose for 138 yards of four receptions for two scores.
Benton was the high man with eight while he added an interception and two pass breakups. Fuller had seven himself with his own pass break up and a blocked PAT. And Galaven finished with five and one for a loss.
The Dons have now won two straight and will take their momentum into American Metro League play when they go on the road to face LA Harbor on Saturday, October 16th. LA Harbor is 2-3 overall after dropping their last game to LA Valley by a score of 36-31.
