Dons Outmatched at Home in 82-43 Loss to Cypress

SANTA ANA - The Dons lost an Orange Empire Conference game to visiting Cypress College 82-43. The loss drops the Dons to 5-20 overall and 1-10 in conference while Cypress improves to 21-6 and 8-3.

The first half opened with Cypress going on a 19-0 run over the first 4:15 of the game before the Dons got on the board with a pair of De'Jon Frazier free throws almost a minute later. The Chargers would go on to build a lead as large as 26 points three times before taking a 38-16 lead into the half.

The second half continued much like the first half with the Chargers continuing to pull away from the Dons before ultimately establishing their largest lead of the game at 82-42 right before the final score of 82-43.

Roger Hamel finished as the only Don scorer in double digits with 10 points while the Chargers had five players in double digits. Nolan Kelly, Austin Payne and Zachary Perez each had 13 points apiece while Jordan Fleck and Brian Robbs added another 12 points apiece.
