SAC Hits 13 Three Pointers to Take Down Riverside 91-73

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana women's basketball team throttled Riverside City (12-9, 4-4) thanks to a barrage of three pointers in Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference contest.

SAC hit 13 long balls (13-29) at a 44.8 percent clip, which led to a 91-73 win against the Tigers.

The Dons played well enough in the first half to take a 10 point lead into the break. They continued to play well in third quarter, grabbing complete control after installing their half-court press and pushing the lead to as much as 24 points while outscoring the Tigers by 10.

Riverside made one last push early in the fourth but couldn't overcome a great shooting night from the Dons.

Brianna Aluva led all scorers with 23 points and eight rebounds while Lexi Ross poured in 21 off the bench for her second consecutive 20 plus point game. Nicole Robles added another 18.

Shayla Sweet and Emily Newkirk gave the Dons quality minutes and combined for 10 points and nine rebounds.

Santa Ana moves to fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference standings as they improved to 11-12, 5-4 overall.
