SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Women's Basketball team has earned the No. 9 seed in the 3C2A Southern California Regionals and will host the No. 24 LA Valley Monarchs (14-14, 8-6) on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. 

Santa Ana (20-8, 7-5) finished in a tie for third place in the Orange Empire Conference standings after pulling off an upset against the No. 2 ranked Orange Coast Pirates in their last game. 

The Dons clinched a playoff spot for the first time since the 2016-17 season when they posted a 16-14, 5-7 record and lost in the second round. 

LA Valley enters the matchup on a two game winning streak, helping them take fifth in the Western State - South Conference. 

The winner will advance to face No. 8 Cerro Coso in round two on Saturday night.
