Solorio Places Second to Lead SAC at Lemoore Tournament

LEMOORE, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Men's Wrestling team sent 12 individuals to the Golden Eagles Tournament at West Hills College Lemoore on Saturday, September 28th. 

SAC finished 13th as a team with 54 points as four wrestlers placed in the top eight in their bracket. 

Ricardo Solorio had the most impressive showing for the Dons, fighting his way to the championship match before falling to Victor Valley's Chris Guerrero to earn second place in the 141 pound bracket. The freshman out of Santa Ana High outscored his opponents 65-19 before the final. 

The Dons also saw Trevor Wagstaff take sixth in the 149 pound class, winning seven of his nine matches to earn 21.5 team points. 

Cory Flores (165 lbs) and Alireza Kaveh (149lbs) both placed 8th in their brackets and combined for 21 points.

Santa Ana will now prepare to host their annual tournament on Saturday, October 5th at Bill Cook Gym. Start time is set for 9:00 a.m.
