SANTA ANA - After dropping their season opener 3-0 at Moorpark College yesterday, the Dons are now 0-2-0 on the season following a 2-1 loss to Southwestern College. The loss came despite the Dons outshooting Southwestern 14-7 in the game and 7-1 in the first half. The Dons also led the shots on goal battle 7-4.

But that one shot for Southwestern was all the Jaguars needed as Leslie Ramos found Uilani Himan for a goal in the 28th minute. Himani gathered the pass on the right side and scored on a shot to the far post.

In the second half, Southwestern extended its lead to 2-0 in the 66th minute when Janeth Bahena sent a corner kick to the far post, finding the head of Alyssa Gonzalez who deflected the ball into the back of the net.

Finally, after over 169 minutes of action, the Dons found the back of the net for their first goal of the season. Marisol Quintero sent a ball high over the top of the Jaguars defense. Kristina Alatorre beat Southwestern's keeper, Karina Himan, to the ball and got just enough of a touch to roll the ball in for the goal.

Monica Hernandez played all 90 minutes for the Dons in goal, allowing two goals with two saves. Her counterpart, Karina Himan, made six saves while allowing the late goal.

The Dons return to action on Friday, August 31 when they host College of the Canyons at 4:00 p.m.
